I am super excited to show you guys the cosplay that I did yesterday.
I love the character Gaara from the anime Naruto so I decided to cosplay him.
I did a female Gaara cosplay and I’m so excited with how it turned out considering I didn’t really spend any money on it.
I just used stuff I had around my home.
So today I’m going to share with you guys how I did this quick cosplay so that you can do it too if you’re interested in getting into cosplay.
I did a Gaara Cosplay and I love it! – Affordable Cosplay Tutorial
Firstly I want to say that this was pretty much a cosplay on a budget.
I used whatever I had at home already to create this Gaara cosplay.
It may not be completely accurate, but I highly recommend closet cosplaying and using photo editor apps to do cosplay.
You’ll feel super excited and happy about the end result even if you didn’t spend a lot of money on the cosplay itself.
So Gaara has red hair and I decided to use a burgundy wig that I bought.
I prefer burgundy hair over red because it kind of looks more realistic to me.
I recommend these burgundy wigs on Amazon.
You can also dye your hair burgundy too if you want to commit to burgundy hair.
Another thing you can do is use an app where you can change your hair color.
I’ll be honest though I feel like it can be difficult for hair color to change correctly if it’s a darker color.
I know whenever I try to edit my hair color with apps, the color change blends in with whatever I’m wearing most of the time.
Next thing I did was I put on some makeup.
I put on minimal concealer and I applied some black eyeliner that I bought from a Beauty Supply store all over my eyes like Gaara’s eyes.
Also if you like you can use the FaceApp to make your face look more clear and to even your skintone / make it look like you’re wearing makeup or make it look like your skin is clear..
I originally planned on wearing a burgundy turtleneck, but I couldn’t find it.
So instead I went with my burgundy oversized hoodie that I bought from Nasty Gal.
I also found a grey piece of clothing that I could use for the vest part.
I legit draped a grey turtleneck across the shoulder of one arm and folded it where it went around my waist and to the back.

As for the red tattoo on the forehead, I pretty much typed into Google “Gaara head tattoo” and I saved a photo.
Then removed the background so that I could apply the scar to my head via Canva.
I edited my eye color through the YouCam Makeup app and boom… female Gaara cosplay completed.
So that’s how I put together my Gaara cosplay.
The only things you need are a burgundy wig, had a burgundy hoodie on hand, and something grey to drape across my shoulder.
Let me know if you guys try this Gaara cosplay. I’d love to see it!
