When it comes to being single I feel like people tend to focus on the cons of being single a lot.
However you can embrace being single in different ways where you can enjoy it and realize that it’s actually pretty nice.
So today I’m going to share with you how to be happy being single.
11 Ways to Embrace Being Single | How to be okay with being single
Understand that it’s okay and that you can be sad about being single.
I feel like the more you fight and act like you’re okay with being single when you’re truly not okay with it.. the more it kind of hurts.
It’s okay if you don’t want to be single.
It’s okay if you want to have a relationship and that it is something that you’d truly want because you know it’s a dream / goal of yours to have someone as well as be in love.
I feel like being honest with yourself about it is better than trying to force yourself to act like you’re okay with it.
Surround yourself with friends, family, or meet new people.
Spend time with people that make you feel good.
Do things with them that you enjoy whether you’re having a movie night, wine drinking night, game night, a girl’s night, or a vision board night.
Think about all of the fun things you want to do and do them.
When you’re single, you don’t have to worry about someone else. You can just make plans whenever you want and make moves without having to include someone else.
Pick up hobbies and learn more about yourself.
I feel like the older you get the more you realize different things about yourself.
I know I have found a couple of different hobbies that I enjoy doing that is a lot of fun and helps me to relax.
You should find somethings for you to do too.
Get a pedicure and get your hair done.
As Missy Elliott once said,
“Get a pedicure, get your nails did..:
Boost yourself by getting a new hairstyle or some cute nails. (I highly recommend trying doing your nails at home with acrylic press-on nails).
Whether you want to go to a salon to get your hair done, buy a cute wig, dye your own hair, or experiment with some Youtube video tutorials.. change your hair.
Look good for you!
Also add some new clothes to your wardrobe!
Take yourself on a mini shopping spree.
Go thrift shopping or to the mall. Buy some clothes online and create some gorgeous looks that’ll make you feel like your best self.
Create self care routines and give yourself spa days.
Make sure that you pour life into yourself.
Create a routine that’ll help you to destress as well as make you feel good.
Go traveling and save money while doing it.
Set money aside to take the trips you’ve always wanted. Whether you want to travel alone or travel with a group of friends or family… take a much needed vacation.
It can be a road trip, a local town that’s only an hour away, orrr you can fly to another state.
Make plans to travel somewhere new by using a Groupon or booking a hotel room via Expedia.
I also recommend booking an Airbnb too.
With being single, you can meet and end up dating different people.
Since you’re not tied down to anyone, if the opportunity arises you can go on dates which can be pretty exciting.
Go into the dates with an open mind, but if you see red flags… know that it’s okay for it to be the last time you see them.
Appreciate the fact that you don’t have to deal with the problems that might come with being in a relationship.
One thing about being single is that you only have to worry about yourself and you don’t have to worry about someone else potentially causing you issues.
Appreciate that you’re not in a relationship anymore that might have caused you to feel negatively.
Embrace not settling.
You deserve the best.
You should be treated respectfully and with care.
Don’t settle for less than you deserve.
If you end up dating someone that isn’t treating you the way you want to be treated, it’s okay to cut them off.
