When it comes to day to day life it is important to keep yourself grounded and safe.

It’s crucial to not only protect your body, but to protect your emotions, mind, and overall spirit.

Today I’m going to share with you guys how I protect my energy and keep myself from being affected by the negative.

How to protect your energy | Self Care

In the past, I have let so many different things affect me from work to school to personal relationships.

It can definitely cause you to feel overwhelmed and drained mentally, emotionally, and even physically.

Here are a couple of things I practice so that I can keep my energy protected…

Take a moment to breathe.

When you feel like something is bothering you or making you feel stressed, take a moment to gather yourself.

Breathe.

One of the things I always say is to “Breathe in the positivity and exhale the negativity.”

Take sometime to process your emotions and thoughts.

Take some deep breaths. Drink some water. Breathe.

Remove yourself from negative people.

Your environment and what you surround yourself with can deeply affect you.

If everytime you talk to a specific person you feel negative, then you should distance yourself from them.

It’s okay to protect your emotions and mental health.


Give yourself space from social media.

If you find yourself constantly seeing negative things on social media or if you find yourself comparing your life to others, take a break from social media.

It’s okay to take some days, weeks, months, or even years away from social media.

I know some people who don’t even get on Facebook at all like that and that’s okay if it’s too much.

Buy some plants.

There is something about having plants in your home.

They promote oxygen and clean the air, but I also feel like they help to remove negative vibes too.

Buy yourself some plants and place them around your home.

Workout to release.

Working out can not only help with releasing endorphins, but it also helps with releasing some steam/energy.

Do some exercising for 30 minutes and see how much it’ll improve your mood or help you to feel more clarity about things.

Practice Gratitude.

Take sometime to appreciate the things you have in your life.

Whether you write in a journal or take a gratitude walk, think about all that you have in life.

There’s something about being in the moment and appreciating what you have.

It helps you to protect your energy from jealousy or feeling negative about things that you feel may not be going right in your life.

Meditate or Pray.

Spend time meditating on positive thoughts or praying to God for peace.

Be mindful and hopeful. Be in the moment and appreciate it.
