October was filled with a variety of different experiences and new things.
So today I’m sharing with you guys things I tried and things I learned last month.
Let’s jump into it.
Things That Happened & Things I Learned Last Month – October 2021
Influencer Life
Sometimes it’s difficult to work with brands when the quality isn’t there in the product.
I have had some situations happen when I’ve worked with a brand and the quality wasn’t that great or wasn’t there at all.
I want to provide my audience with decent insight into products I try or use, but some brands will legit want you to straight up lie.
It’s just unfortunate because you realize the morals aren’t there and it’s all about money. They don’t even care if the customer wastes money and I know I personally can’t stand wasting my own money so why would I allow it to happen to someone who trusts my opinion? It just doesn’t make sense at all.
Lots of brands only want to gift product, but receive a decent amount of coverage.
I have had a decent amount of smaller brands email me for gifted features and it’d be nice to work with everyone, but at the same time… it does take a lot of time to create content and market it across my platforms.
The other issue I have is that a lot of brands not only want to be featured on my blog, but they want to be promoted on all of my social media.
Depending on the product, it can take me sometime to actually evaluate it.. take photos of it and then document my thoughts about it for a blog post.
Don’t get me wrong some gifted product reviews only took me an hour to create and post while others took me 5+ hours and sometimes even a couple of days if it was a product I was trying out more than once just to make sure it’s worth the buy for my audience.
I just feel like a lot of brands really want the most for a $20 product a lot of times and it sucks especially when they don’t even offer affiliate links that I can make money off of for months/years to come.
I honestly think I’m afraid of being truly successful.
You guys I don’t know what it is, but I have been having this issue where I want to do Youtube. I have videos recorded and edited. I did the SEO research and everything, but for some reason I just can’t press publish.
I don’t know what it is, but I keep stopping myself. Whatever it is, I need to get over it because I just know I’m missing out on money as well as helping others by not updating my Youtube channel.
I went viral on Twitter.. just a lil bit.
I posted a cosplay I had did of Shego from Kim Possible and it’s probably my most liked Tweet featuring me for 2021.
I did a Kim Possible Shego cosplay. 💚

I rarely post selfies. I need to start back posting them. I usually only post a selfie every 2 months.
Hashtags are the truth for reach on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.Â
When I tell you guys to utilize hashtags on all of these platforms, please do it!
I’ve noticed that brands find me on Facebook and Twitter because I use hashtags.
I also feel like Twitter shares and just social media shares in general can boost blog posts or at least that’s what’s been happening for me this year.
The more shares I get, the more it’s a bit easier for me to rank in Google search for specific keyword phrases.
Food
I can actually make double crust cheesecake now.
My boyfriend wanted a double crust cheesecake for Sweetest Day. I searched high and low online so that I could buy one that could be shipped to our home, but the only one I found was on Goldbelly and it was like $60+.
I decided to take it upon myself to actually make a double crust cheesecake instead and it actually turned out great.
I’m not even a fan of cheesecake and I ate a little piece of it… it was pretty freaking delicious!

You can add coffee creamer to oatmeal to make it taste better.
I am a big fan of watching lifestyle Tik Tok vlog videos and in this one video, this woman poured coffee creamer into her oatmeal.
I never thought about doing that myself, but I am definitely going to for sure.
I’ll report back to share with you guys if it tastes good or not.
Shows I watched in October that I highly recommend
Arte – Hulu

Sharing experiences is a good way to share thoughts for others too!
I’m with you. I use hashtags on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. The cheesecake sounds yummy!
I totally feel you as I am a blogger myself and sometimes find brands wanting/asking more than the value of the product which is a bit unfair.
I sure can relate to your blogging issues with brands. I also love Howl’s Moving Castle – HBO Max.
I think it’s really terrible honestly that a lot of brands take advantage of influencers like that. I think each blogger has had this shared experience but when you get a name brand that is sold everywhere tell you they don’t have a budget to pay for advertising, I don’t understand how that’s even allowed. I’m sure they don’t work for free and so influences shouldn’t be expected to either.
The double crust cheesecake looks so good btw! I’ve never tried the cheesecake mix from Jell-O! Will definitely need to try it 😀
I feel that too, being afraid of being successful. Its important to be vulnerable, thats how we grow. Thanks for sharing.
I really like the no bake cheesecake! That looks so delicious and yummy!
What you say about hashtags is so true! For anyone who uses social media, growth is all about hashtags.
Pizza and cheesecake – dinner is sorted! Love the Kim Possible outfit – my older kids loved her!
This post is full of great ideas and show suggestions and I love your photo in your tweet. I say definitely go for You Tube! You got this.
I saw your costume post on twitter before finding your blog! It’s a great costume. It’s hard not to work with every brand that emails you – I have been having that issue lately too. Best of luck in balancing and what an interesting reflection.
I love this post. Love that pizza and your Halloween costume.
It’s great to be able to reflect back on your life and understand better your life and your time and the good things about it. Loved your post, I feel like I know you better now
The look you have is cute. 🙂 I like the No Bake Cheesecake. I used to make the cherry version but i haven’t seen them in our stores for such a long time now!
You look great in that costume! I find hashtags really help on twitter and instagram too
Someone had an eventful October! Hopefully, this powerful Scorpio season of November will help you illuminate why you may be afraid of success/your power. Remember, you get to define how you want your life to look. Wishing you the best!
I know what it’s like to be an influencer. When I originally started blogging, I would just receive products and review them, which was quite restricting given that we are in partnership. However, in my second blog, I no longer endorse products that I disliked or believe would not benefit my readers.
I’m not sure about hashtags anymore, I think it depends on your audience. Don’t be afraid to be successful, if you can be, you should go for it!
Looks like you experienced a lot last month. Thank you for sharing!
