Today the Lightyear trailer was released by Pixar.
I didn’t even know there were any plans of creating a Buzz Lightyear film, but here we are.
If you’re a Toy Story fan and you grew up watching the Toy Story movies like me your fellow millennial, then you’re probably just as shocked as I am.
Today I want to talk about the things I hope to see in the Lightyear movie.
5 Things I Want to See in the Lightyear Movie
But, before we jump into that I’m going to write a summary based off of what I saw in the trailer.
We pretty much see the origin story of Lightyear as he becomes a space ranger / astronaut. I’m not too sure about what all of this will entail, but here are some things I’m interested in seeing within this Lightyear movie.
The reason behind why Lightyear wanted to become a space ranger in the first place.
Did Buzz always feel a certain way about space or did he look up to someone who went into space?
Will the story be based on who the Buzz Lightyear toy was modeled from?
If you guys don’t know, Buzz Lightyear was slightly based on Apollo 11 astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.
Since Buzz Lightyear is a toy is this going to be the background story of what he was doing before he became a toy or how will that even work?
Will a toy be developed based on the Lightyear in this new movie or what?

Will it be revealed how even old Buzz Lightyear is?
I’ve always wondered about the age of Buzz. He would have to be at least 30+ years old for his job.. but at the same time you can’t really place an age range on actual toy.
Will they show Buzz’s nemesis Emperor Zurg?
We all know that Zurg and Buzz had it out for each other, but will we see how these two characters came to be enemies?
Will we see the characters from the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command series?
I was a huge fan of Princess Mira Nova & Booster from the animated series. I kind of hope they’ll make some sort of cameo in this film.

I have mixed feelings about this. I will probably end up watching, but it feels weird not to hear Tim Allen.
What a great review I imagine this will be the new holiday blockbuster this year!
Not sure how I feel about Chris Evans being the voice instead of Tim Allen. I’m sure my kids will want to see it though!
I saw a post about this movie yesterday, it looks like it might be interesting. I am curious to see what all they do myself.
I only saw the trailer today and the movie looks really good, although I don’t know how much relation it will have with Toy Story and the Buzz Lightyear character in terms of nemesis etc x
