I received this product to try for free in exchange for review. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely love trying out different skincare products over a course of time.
I’m a person who when I try a new beauty product, I like to try it out for awhile to see if there are any changes in my overall skin.
Today I’m bringing to you guys a pumice scrub which is from Skin by Brownlee & Co.
This was my first time using a pumice scrub and I wanted to share with you guys my opinion of it as well as share what it did for my skin.
Tried It: Clear Skin Pumice Scrub from Skin by Brownlee & Co – Review | Beauty
Skin by Brownlee & Co is a black-owned skincare company from holistic acne specialist and esthetician Sylvia Brownlee.
I am all for finding more black owned brands and supporting them which is why I was so interested in trying this skincare product.
The Packaging
I am a huge fan of the packaging. A lot of care was put into it. I love the branding and this drawstring bag is everything!
The bag itself feels high quality which made me even more excited to try the product out.
The Scent
The smell is simple. It’s not overwhelming or overpowering. It doesn’t have an actual perfume like scent. It just smells like some sort of medicated lotion I guess. It doesn’t smell weird which is great for me.
Experiencing the Clear Skin Pumice Scrub
So pumice scrubs are supposed to be great for removing dead skin cells to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion.
This is something that my skin really needed if I’m being honest.
I feel like a lot of times I’ll see dead skin on my face (especially around my most combination areas on my face which are around my eyebrows, forehead, and the corners of my nose) so I’ll start scrubing my face really hard or trying to pick at it with my nails.
Within using this pumice scrub, it was honestly fairly easy to just massage it on my face and exfoliate my face where the dead skin was actually being buffed away.
I absolutely LOVED that about this skincare product because it was much needed!
Another thing I really appreciated about this product was that a little bit on your fingertips goes a long way. I didn’t have to take out 3 fingers full of the pumice scrub which means this product will somewhat last awhile for me.
As far as if this product gives a smoother, brighter complexion… So the problem areas where dead skin is somewhat visible on my eyebrows and corners of my nose my skin did look smoother. I can’t really say that my complexion appeared brighter though. I didn’t really see any change personally.
I definitely think that it did help with my acne, especially on my forehead. I see less acne bumps there for sure.
I also have to mention that this pumice scrub is a medicated exfoliant for oily & acne skin. I have combination skin, but I feel like the majority of my face tends to be on the dry skin side.
So my experience maybe different in comparison to someone who has oily skin.
Overall though, I highly recommend this pumice scrub if you’re looking for a face scrub that removes dead skin.
I currently have added the Skin by Brownlee & Co Clear Skin Pumice Scrub to my skincare routine where I use it 1-2 times a week to exfoliate my face.
