I learned a variety of things in August and today I’m going to share with you guys what I learned.
Let’s jump into it!
Blogging and Influencing
So many brands are trying to buy dofollow links and I feel like I’m missing out on a lot of money.
When I tell you guys, I’ve had probably 30 brands reach out to me over the past couple of months wanting me to write a sponsorship post, but they wanted the links to be dofollow. The moment I tell them how Google frowns upon dofollow links for sponsorships and paid posts, they either disappear without a response or they tell me they only want to work with me if the links are dofollow.
It’s just so disappointing because I know that it’s their job, but they don’t even consider how me going through with it could mess up the entire foundation of my site where I get pinged for doing something against Google’s rules.
Talking about different topics puts me on the radar for potential brand collaborations.
I’ve noticed that when I talk about fashion or home decor, maybe a month or two later I’ll have a couple of brands reach out to me about a collaboration. I still feel like brands are finding me via Twitter & hashtags. It makes the most sense.
I definitely want to start creating more fashion and DIY content.
For years, I’ve wanted to get into fashion blogging. I keep saying I’m going to do it, but then I never do. So now I’m going to push myself to posting at least 3 fashion posts every month.
I also want to try my hand at DIY content as well. I’m super excited about it.
I switched my Instagram’s Business account to a Creator account.
I watched a video recently about how only Creator accounts could find trending music. I haven’t started making videos on my account just yet, but when I do I want to be able to add trending music to my videos.
Health, Food, & Drink
I can’t drink juice like that.
I ended up getting a bladder infection all because I binge drank juice for a week since I had been doing so well with not drinking anything other than water at all. It was absolutely trash.
I am in love with Savvy Sliders.
On the day I went to Urgent Care, my boyfriend suggested we tried Savvy Sliders since it was right next to the Urgent Care we went to. I absolutely loved the burgers there! They were so freaking good.
I’ve been losing weight and I’m going to assume it’s water weight.
So my weight has been going down consistently for the past couple of months. It’s not a giant change, but I haven’t been this size in like 2 years. Drinking more water and cutting out sweets has been weight changing I suppose.
My Personal Life
I care about what people think, but not enough to put in the effort a lot of times.
It’s interesting how my relationships are with people. I’m a very distant person for the most part which is unfortunate, but the important people in my life understand.
A lot of times I feel like I’m left out of stuff or I feel like people think I don’t care. Or sometimes I’ll hear someone say something and my feelings slightly may get hurt because I’m not as involved and to be honest, it’s on me.
Then I realize that my relationships are the way that they are because of the way things happened in the past and how I haven’t really tried to change anything.
So I’m slowly trying to put more effort into changing myself where I’m more present for people and where I check in on them versus when I think about them.. I say a prayer and don’t physically contact them at all.

Can you guys relate to any of these topics?
What did you learn last month?
Let me know in the comments down below!
First and foremost, let me say that you are beautiful! I just finished reading your most recent post and I’m like, how the hell can someone cheat on you? You appear to be very nice!
It’s good to know that drinking more water and avoiding sweets can help a person lose weight. But it all depends on how much water I have to drink every day, because I’m sure I’ll get tired of having to pee all the time.
Thank you for the Instagram creator account advice!
In August, I also realized I had a problem reaching out to people. My only female best friend seemed to have time for everyone but me, and I had to reflect on how she rarely hears from me and how I don’t really include her in most of the things that I do.
I sent a text message to all of my friends and family members who I felt were distant, suggesting that we contact each other at least once a week to chat, check in, give updates, and possibly plan outings. It was stressful at first to think about forcing all of that social activity, but when the time came, it was easy because they were so engaging and fun to talk to.
Ahh thank you so much! Well you know.. usually when people cheat it’s all about the cheater’s head space and if they want to be in a committed relationship to the person they are with. It’s unfortunate, but that’s just how it goes sometimes.
YES! I drink maybe 2-3 16.9 fl oz. bottles of water a day and I stay running to the bathroom off of that alone. lol
I definitely might have to do that myself with the people in my life. I am trying to do a monthly check in with my siblings where I’m going to try to have us all hang out at least once a month so we can do something together whether it’s play video games, watch movies, or just talk while eating food.
Congrats on the weight loss (if that is what you wanted). 🙂 Also, I agree that we have to make changes to see changes. I am too lax with doing that in many of my personal relationships as well because I get so busy.
You should did learn a lot last month, it’s kind of nice to stop and take stock over the things you’ve been through.
I think it is very nice to make yourself available to learn, to know and thus to improve yourself and then share those same experiences with others.
Water is my favorite drink, I get more thirsty if I drink juice because of the sugar. Btw I had no idea creator account exists on IG. Thanks!
It sounds like you have been noticed more on twitter. That’s great, use a range of hashtags and keep posting regularly as that will help.
I could definitely be better at actually checking in on people too. And I noticed that if I drink much other than water I can also have similar issues. Water is all I drink now and it’s made me feel so much better.
I had the exact same issue from drinking juice!!
You’ve learned a lot! Cutting out sweets and drinking more water is a great way to lose excess weight!
It’s wonderful that you reflect on the month and everything that you learned. I don’t think enough of us take the time to sit and reflect like that. I’ve been having a hard time with some of my family relationships and I’m trying to figure out how much of it is on me. Also kudos to you for sticking to the nofollow rules. When I first started blogging I was told it was actually illegal to add follow links for paid partnerships. Not sure if that’s still the case, but I stick to it.
you look stunning my friend!! I have had a bladder infection as well not fun at all!!! also congrats on losing weight if thats what you were wanting 🙂
I have found that cutting out juices and other sweetened things has been so impactful on a healthy weight management. Lots of good changes this month it sounds!
I like the bio about your personal life and also to add this to it. No matter how you treat people those that will like and understand you will do and those that won’t understand you will never do. Just keep peace with yourself and everyone around.
Sounds like you had a wonderful and productive month. Hoping for more interesting and amazing things to happen in the next incoming months.
I believe that the most important lessons to be learned are the ones that are relevant and timely. By documenting lessons learned in a timely fashion, it’s possible to capture not only the essence of the experience, but the spirit as well. Congrats!

It is so good to reflect – I do hope your infection clears up and it’s good to see you thinking about insta and your blog!
