I know a lot of you are as hype as I am because Aaliyah’s music is being released for streaming finally!
We’ve been waiting so long for this and it’s finally happening.
Today I’m going to share with you guys my favorite songs on the One In A Million album that released in 1996.
Favorite Songs on the One In A Million Album – Streaming Aaliyah | Music
Got to Give It Up
This is a remake of the Marvin Gaye song, but I absolutely love this version.
I remember watching this video consistently on her I Care For U music video dvd album.
Everything’s Gonna Be Alright
This is one of my “Cleaning the House” songs. I literally will just two step and clean the kitchen.
This is definitely an underrated Aaliyah song. The beat and the lyrics are everything.
4 Page Letter
This music video had a hold on me from the all leather jacket outfit to Aaliyah hip rolling in a cute crop top and baggy jeans.
Aaliyah’s aesthetic just hits different.
She was so effortless with her style.
I feel like the song 4 Page Letter inspired me to write a variety of letters to crushes in grade school even though they definitely didn’t deserve them.
Your girl was in her feelings sharing how she felt in these little love letters most likely because of this song.
If Your Girl Only Knew
I always thought the beat on this song was everything.
This song was all about a dude being in a relationship and trying to talk to someone else knowing his actual girl would definitely leave him if she knew this information.
To me this song is all about telling a guy,
“Why are you trying to ruin what you have with your girl? She’d leave you if she knew you were trying to cheat. You definitely aren’t worth all the trouble you put her threw. You need to stop.”
This is that song for those bad breakups where you’re like you love someone and you’re wondering why did you guys breakup.
It’s all about that hurt you’re feeling and how you’re tired of hurting over that someone.
Never Coming Back
I love that this song Aaliyah sang is about reflecting on all of the things a guy did wrong and acknowledging her worth seeing that the relationship isn’t even worth all of the harm it’s causing her.
One In A Million
I remember the first time I watched this video when I was a kid and it was the coolest thing I ever saw. I recall wanting to be like Aaliyah and attempting to do the dances in this video.
I also recall having crushes in grade school and playing this song over and over like I was in love.
I’m currently cracking up writing this.
So those are my favorite songs from Aaliyah’s One In A Million album.
