8 Things to do in Michigan this Summer | Travel

It’s the Summer time which means it’s time to make plans for the Summer.

I’m from Michigan, Detroit to be exact and there are a lot of fun things that you can do this Summer.

So let’s jump into my list of things you should do this Summer in Michigan!

8 Things to do in Michigan this Summer | Travel

Take a ride on the bike trolley.

If you plan ahead, decide to go with a group of friends or your family on a trolley.

I recommend either The HandleBar Detroit or the Detroit Rolling Pub.

Go camping.

Plan a trip to go camping with friends and family this Summer. I recommend Groveland Oaks County Park and Campground in Holly, MI.

Try some authentic Ramen.

My boyfriend and his friends love visiting Johnny Noodle King in Detroit. I’m a big fan of their chicken karaage.

I personally love Edo Ramen in Royal Oak & Slurping Turtle in Ann Arbor.

Check out the events in the area like festivals and concerts.

There is always something going on every weekend in Michigan, you just have to know where to look.

Head on over to Eventbrite to see what’s going on in Michigan.

Many of the events off social distancing still too if you have concerns about COVID19. I would just do a bit of research first to make sure.

Treat yourself to some delicious desserts.

I recommend visiting the Astoria bakery. I personally prefer the one in Detroit versus the one in Royal Oak because they have a bigger variety of sweets. Astoria makes delightful cookies as well as cakes and other baked goods. You won’t be disappointed.

I recall getting a strawberry cake from them (Detroit location) for my birthday one year and it was amazing.

I also went to the Royal Oak location for another birthday and had cupcakes there. One of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to in Michigan for sure!

Visit Mackinac Island.

Lots of people in Michigan take trips to Mackninac Island. There are lots of things to do there from going horseback riding to taking boat rides to fudge making. Plan a trip to Mackinac Island for a time filled with fun.

Try some ice cream!

Visit some ice cream shops like Milkster Nitrogen Creamery in Dearborn or the Michigan Creamery in Ann Arbor.

Eat a slice of pizza.

The best pizza I’ve had in Detroit that is not from a chain has been from Mr. C’s in Grosse Pointe Farms & Detroit Pizza Factory in Dearborn Heights, MI.

Actually I find that liquor stores that sell pizza tend to have some of the best pizza to be honest.

So that’s my roundup of things to do in Michigan in the Summer.
