Spread the love

I have been binge watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the past 3 months. I had it on my “List of Shows I Want to Watch” for years and finally I took the plunge into the land of Sunnydale. This is my first time watching the show. I’ve seen clips of the series on social media and Youtube, but I’ve never actually seen the build up to certain epic moments of the series. So today I figured I would share with you guys my perspective as an adult watching this show for the first time on why you should check Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Hulu.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer review

If you’re a fan of vampire witchy series, this is for you..

I don’t know about you guys, but since I was a teenager… I’ve been obsessed with series like Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, Charmed, & more. I don’t know what it is that makes me want to dive into these shows, but I love the storylines. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the first that I know of that made it’s way to mainstream where people tuned in to see a girl and her friends fight demons and save the world.

It’s filled with drama.

This show is focused on a high schooler who slays demons and eventually transitions into adulthood as she tries to figure out how to have a life while trying to fight evil. There’s a ton of relationship related drama within this series from trying to have a normal relationship in a supernatural world to dating that which is supposed to be slain. I could write a whole post about Buffy’s relationship issues in itself, but that’s for another day.

The fight scenes are hilarious.

So everyone knows that in the 90s, things weren’t as progressive as they are today. The fight scenes in this series are comical. You can actually see the stunt doubles in the scenes and how the actresses/actors are obviously swapped out which is super funny.

It’s a storyline that’s actually decently written that’ll have you rooting for your favs while also being irritated at their problematic lives.

I usually end up tweeting my thoughts about the series and have found myself being happy for characters as well as going off about how unfair certain situations are. I am unfortunately emotionally invested in some of the characters in this show and you most likely will become invested too.

Overall, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a great show to watch that’ll keep you interested in finding out what’s going to happen next and how things will turn out for your favorite characters. This show transitions between being relatable to funny to dark, but it has definitely become one of my preferred series to binge watch over the past few months. I would highly recommend binge watching it on Hulu if you’re looking for something to watch!
