During this quarantine, I decided to take sometime out to start binge watching Bojack Horseman and let me tell you….. I can’t stop watching this show. Today I figured I would share with you guys my thoughts on the show Bojack Horseman on Netflix in case you were curious about what it was about and if it’s worth the watch.

I’m binge watching Bojack Horseman | Review – Netflix Series

Bojack Horseman currently has 6 seasons on Netflix. It’s an adult animated show.

This show has a decent amount of drama.

This show is about a veteran sitcom actor named Bojack Horseman. He is part horse and part man (I know it’s weird). I can assume that he started working as an actor when he was in his early 20’s and now he’s probably in his late 30s early 40s. The show chronicles the situations that happen in his life of being a celebrity as well as the journeys his friends experience over the course of the show.

Bojack Horseman is an absolute mess.

I am currently on season 3 and this guy does a lot of self-sabotaging to his life. Over time I realized that this guy is pretty impulsive and he goes through fleeting moments without really thinking things through at all. It’s actually pretty sad to see the ways he handles his own sadness and how it causes a string of events where things backfire. Lots of drama happens around him as well as others in his life.

This show displays a view into a person with depression and how they don’t know how to exactly manage it.

One of the things that’s interesting about this show is how you can see that the character and even other characters experience depression. You can tell that the reason why certain things in their lives aren’t going so well is because they aren’t really processing their emotions very well which causes them to act out and not address their true feelings initially. I definitely have an appreciation for those moments when the characters self-reflect and evaluate their flaws.

My favorite characters on Bojack Horseman: Princess Carolyn, Wanda Pierce (mainly because she’s voiced by Lisa Kudrow), and Mr. Peanutbutter has his moments where I absolutely adore him.

Do I recommend watching Bojack Horseman?

Surprisingly, yes. I think that it is a captivating show to watch that will hold your attention while also keeping you interested in the storyline of people managing their lives in hollywood while evaluating what would actually make them happy. Apart from the hollywood richness aspect, the show does have moments of being relatable which makes it a great show to binge watch.
