Today I decided to watch a random movie on Hulu and I ended up choosing The Ramen Girl. I figured I would share with you guys why I recommend this Hulu movie since it was absolutely delightful.
4 Reasons to watch The Ramen Girl – Hulu Movies
The movie is about a girl named Abby (Brittany Murphy) who moves to Japan to be closer to her boyfriend and he ends up abandoning her there. She feels like she has lost all hope, but she finds her calling in a local Ramen house.
The movie is 1 hour and 42 minutes long. It’s a comedy drama.
The romance aspect isn’t overwhelming.
At first I thought this movie was going to be somewhat of a romance movie and to some degree there were hints of it, but it didn’t take away from the story as being the main focus which I appreciated. The movie actually focuses on the main character’s growth and development within herself which was very refreshing for me considering this movie came out in 2008.
If you’re looking for a relatable movie..
Along the aspect of feeling lost in life, this was a relatable movie for me because I know I have a lot of moments when I feel lost and like I’m drifting in life. This movie actually did give me a sense of hope as I watched it. It’s all about trying hard and never giving up.
It’s an adorably hilarious showcase of someone in a foreign land.
There were so many funny moments in this movie that made me laugh literally out loud. The relationships between the characters were interesting as well as amusing.
You’ll love this movie if you love ramen.
This movie does tend to focus a lot on the ramen. I know I personally could just imagine how amazing the ramen smelled as I watched it being made as well as eaten. It was truly enjoyable to experience it even if it was just on a screen.
I usually tend to only recommend movies that make me feel some sort of emotion and this movie did stir a variety of emotions of me from empathetic sadness to laughter. It’s a great movie to watch that is light-hearted as well as relatable to some degree.
