With how difficult and competitive it is to become an Instagram influencer, I decided to become a Pinterest influencer instead and I ended up making a decent amount of money.
It is amazing how so many brands don’t really realize the effectiveness of Pinterest. In my opinion, it is way more effective for growing your brand reach and increasing sales than Instagram because you can actually post links and apply SEO tactics to Pinterest.
I guess Instagram is currently the main popular method for Influencer marketing right now, but I realized it is extremely difficult to grow on that platform unless you’ve been strategically using it for years or your account is focused on a certain niche.
So I decided to focus on Pinterest specifically because I noticed how much traffic I was receiving from Pinterest to my blogs.
“If brands want to work with influencers on Instagram.. then they definitely should want to work with influencers on Pinterest.”
Unfortunately upon doing quite a bit of research… most blog networks and influencer networks focus on either Instagram, Facebook, or Youtube as being their target platforms for potential influencer collaborations.
So I decided to take it upon myself to find somewhere to market myself with my 1 year growth of 9000+ Pinterest followers with a 5 million Pinterest reach (at the time).
