Stay at home date ideas are a great way to save money and date on a budget.
A lot of people may think that you have to go out and spend a lot of money to have a great date night, but you can have a pretty fun date night at home. Today I wanted to share with you guys some of my top home date ideas that are an extremely inexpensive way to have a date night without leaving the house. Check them out!
Have a picnic in the living room.
Put together some of your favorite picnic foods like sandwiches, watermelon, chicken, and any other foods you’d like to have for your picnic. Lay a blanket out on the floor and sit down as if you’re outside at the park. Set some candles out on tables within your living room and light them to set the mood for romance. This will definitely set the tone for a nice romantic picnic indoors.
Play board games and drink wine.
Have a game night by playing some of your favorite games like Monopoly, Scrabble, Chess, Checkers, Connect Four, and Uno. Drink some wine as you play and have a great time.
Dress up for a fancy candle lit dinner.
Tell your significant other to dress up fancy tonight. Cook a nice meal for two or you can even order in. Make sure to include an appetizer and dessert. Light some candles and have a nice fancy dinner.
Buy some watercolor paint and buy some poster board paper (buy some from Dollar Tree or Dollar General). Set out some old newspaper to cover the floor so that you don’t get any paint on the floor. Have fun painting pictures. Even set a theme for something specific to paint and share your work with each other. You can also drink wine within this date idea as well.
Play Mario Kart or any other video game.
Setup your Playstation, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox and play two player video games with each other.
Battle dance with each other.
Create a dance playlist or a Lit playlist and battle each other in dancing or just dance together in general. You’ll definitely save the money that you would spend if you were to go to a club.
Lip sing or live sing songs.
Sing your favorite songs and perform in front of each other in a karaoke style date night. Make a list of songs that you want to perform and put on a show for your significant other.
Cook something together.
Think of a meal that you want to cook like tacos, pasta, or even homemade pizza. Make this meal in the kitchen together.
Have a movie or tv show marathon.
If you both love a favorite movie series, binge watch the movies in a movie marathon and relive some of your favorite moments from the movies.
Have a puzzle date night.
Buy some puzzles off of Amazon and put them together. I recommend even buying a lego set or two and putting it together while listening to relaxing music.
Have a movie night with a projector.
Setup a movie projector and watch one of your favorite movies while eating some of your favorite movie snacks. It’ll give you the movie theater vibes, but in a more relaxed environment.
